At Gotta Have It Collectibles, we carry 78 RPM records.
A 78 RPM record is a flat disc record that was made before the late 1950s. It plays at a speed of 78 revolutions per minute, which is where it gets its name. The "78" name was given to these records by collectors. 78s are generally made of a fragile material that can break and scratch easily if not cared for in the right manner. Notes about buying 78 records:
- a 78 is fragile and easily broken
- comes in multiple sizes, the most common being 10-inch and 12-inch diameter
- originally sold in either paper or card covers, generally with a circular cutout allowing the record label to be seen
- the grooves are much coarser
- plays for 3-4 minutes
However because of the time and effort required to list each record, (too large for our scanner, grading, etc.), currently they will not be sold through this web store.
